On July 28th, 1917, the streets of New York City became a stage of quiet defiance as thousands marched in the inaugural Silent Parade for Civil Rights. Organized by leaders seeking equality, this historic gathering sent a powerful cry to the nation: Black Americans deserved full recognition. Though silent, their presence was powerful. Men and women
